The other critical piece of IT assessments and planning involves sitting down with you to discuss the short term and long term goals of your organization. Almost every aspect of your business is affected by technology, so it is imperative to look at all areas to develop technology plans.
So what is involved in an IT Assessment? A highly skilled member of our team will:
- Meet with your designated staff representatives to review (1) any ongoing issues such as viruses, spam email and errors, (2) existing systems constraints or performance problems, and (3) the future business or technology goals you have to improve your operations.
- Analyze all your computers, servers, switches, routers and other network infrastructure. Our team member will gather important data such as the types of computers in use, how old the equipment is, and whether there are any major concerns such as lack of data backups.
- Test network cabling infrastructure to verify that there are no errors or “noise” on the lines. Turning Point Solutions Group has advanced tools that allow us to analyze network cabling for reliability and performance. These tools actually allow us to certify or document the quality of the cable and its installation. Why is this important? Because bad cabling or interference can cause slow network response as well as computer connectivity errors while never being visible to you. (That’s why we use the tools; we, too, cannot visually see most cabling issues that impact transport of network signals.)
Once the TPSG team has assessed your business needs, systems already in place, and your communications infrastructure, our team leader(s) will compile the information in the form of an IT assessment report. A follow-up meeting will be held to review the report with you or a designated member of your staff. At the direction of your organization, we will provide appropriate proposals, quotes, and a project timeline for addressing your needs.
Once your business and network issues have been addressed, we strongly recommend utilizing our ReliaTech Managed Services plan. This is a flat fee monthly service plan that will ensure your network stays in excellent shape!
